CEDAR RAPIDS TRACK CLUB
2010 SUMMER TRACK PROGRAM
What is the Cedar Rapids Track Club (CRTC)?
CRTC is a non-profit organization (501c) offering a youth track & field program for boys and girls ages 9 to 18 years
old. (Age 9 by 12/31/2010) Everyone makes the team and competes in track meets. CRTC is beginning its 12th year.
CRTC is affiliated with USA Track & Field (USATF).
When does the CRTC track season begin and end?
Practices began Monday, 12 April and end in the middle of July, unless the athlete has qualified for the National
Junior Olympics meet held at the end of July. High School and Middle School athletes can join the team after their school
track season is completed.
When and Where are Practices held?
All practices are held at the Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School track, Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:15
PM. All practices are optional & conflicts are understood (and exptected). However, the more an athlete attends practice,
the more s/he learns & improves! Fundamentals of running, jumping, and throwing events will be emphasized. The use of
starting blocks for sprinters will be encouraged.
How much does it cost?
The CRTC Registration fee is $50 per athlete (make checks payable to Cedar Rapids Track Club). This includes the
athlete’s membership fees for USATF, all meet entry fees through the State c\Championships (Regional & National
meet entry fees are not included) and a CRTC T-shirt. The 2010 Meet Schedule will be announced later. Transportation, meals
and any overnight lodging expenses are not covered.
New members, PLEASE bring a copy of the athlete’s (County or State, not hospital) birth certificate
that CRTC can keep on file.
Thank you.
